Eden Hazard has given an indication that he wants Chelsea to clarify the position of Antonio Conte in the team amid speculations that the Italian manager is set to leave the club, as well as the club’s plans for signing players ahead of next season to enable him to make a decision on his future at Stamford Bridge.
Conte won the Premier League with Chelsea in his first season with the club but struggled in his second season as Chelsea finished in 5th place and missed out on the UEFA Champions League places next season.
When Hazard was asked if his future at the club depended on who was in charge at the club, the Belgian replied:
“Yeah I want to know. I want to know, but like I say I am focused on the World Cup.
“If we have something new – manager or players – it is always good to know it because I want players that can (help bring success back to) Chelsea next season.”
Hazard has been handed the captain’s armband for the Belgium national team and will play a key role for his side in the Russia 2018 World Cup as they are in Group G and will come up against England, Panama and Tunisia.
