Alvaro Morata wants Madrid stay

-

  • Please do everything possible for me to remain an Athletico player.
  • I would love to stay at Wanda Metropolitano, says Morata.

Chelsea and Athletico Madrid are in discussion over Blues failed £58 million ($74m) January signing following his repeated desire to leave the club.

The Spanish giant has assured Morata they are willing to secure his services for next season, though the striker could be forced by Chelsea to return in the summer due to the FIFA transfer ban.

Athletico Madrid will be hoping their 18-month loan continues without Chelsea exercising the option to recall the striker, however, Morata is desperate not to return to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have the option to recall the Spaniard, which provides an edge during new talks but Atletico has a purchase option valued at £48.5m after the Spain International was signed for the £4.4m loan fee.

The 26-year-old earlier revealed his desire to become a permanent signing for the Los Rojiblancos as soon as possible.

“I want to stay at Atletico but, contractually, Chelsea can call me back,”

Morata said in early June.

“We will see what happens in the negotiations between them, but the two clubs already know what I want.

“I only ask, please, as I said to Atletico, do everything possible to do it as soon as possible. Because I just want to be here.”

The Los Rojiblancos will have enough funds to secure the signature of both Morata and Portuguese £112m prospect, Joao Felix, with the sale of Rodri for £63m to Manchester City and a possible £107m deal by Barcelona for Antoine Griezmann.

Meanwhile, the Blues are negotiating with former Player Frank Lampard over a possible move back to the bridge, this time though he will be coming in as a coach

Athletico Madrid will be hoping their 18-month loan continues without Chelsea exercising the option to recall the striker, however, Morata is desperate not to return to Stamford Bridge.

Blues have been given permission to approach Derby County Boss in their pursuit of a new manager. Derby took to their social media page to announce the development surrounding Lampard’s future at the Club.
