BIOGRAPHY OF ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN
Andreas Christensen aged 22 was born on the 10th of April 1996 in Lillerød, Denmark.
He is a very tall player with a height of 6”2 and plays as a centre-back.
He played eight years for Brondby, before joining Chelsea football club during the 2013/2014 campaign.

His performance during the FA Youth Cup got him the most attention and his credibility as a defensive force grew.
Andreas scored the opening goal in the fourth round at the Valley. This was vital for a fightback against Charlton as the Under-18s had fallen 2-0 behind. He played in all ties en route to the final, missing out of only 2 games.
His 11 appearances for the Under-21 team made a statement of his maturity. In December 2012, He debuted in the Under-19s NextGen Series against Ajax and he was made to play as a defensive midfielder.
Andreas signed a professional contract in the summer of 2013/14. He was vital in Dermot Drummy’s Under-21 Team, featuring on 25 occasions. They eventually won the league play-off.

He had his first feel of the Premier League when he played as a late substitution at the season finale match against Sunderland. He was also a part of the team of the Under-19 that won the League of the UEFA Youth in April 2015.

In July 2015, Christensen got signed on a full year loan to Borussia Monchengladbach. He soon got established as the team regular scoring 2 goals against Werder Bremen in one of the team outings.
His Impressive form for Borussia Monchengladbach in 2015 earned him the yearly Danish Talent award. The award is usually given to the most talented Danish player with prospects. The player must be under the age of 22 and plying his trade in the Danish domestic league or abroad.
Andreas first season in Germany was highly successful. He featured 39 times, scoring three goals while playing as a defender.
He was very vital in his loan club ‘s qualification for the next season’s Champions League. Again, his impressive performances ensured that Borussia Monchengladbach finished comfortably at fourth-place in the Bundesliga.

Christensen ended the season scoring four goals in 43 appearances. He had two goals for the German side in the Europa League and two in the Bundesliga.
Before he left Borussia Monchengladbach, he gained some Champions League experience when he featured in two crunch ties against two strong teams, Man City and Barcelona.
Andreas Christensen’s Return To Chelsea
In the summer of 2017, the young Danish was part of the Chelsea squad that traveled to Singapore and China. He was brought in as substitute during the second half; against Arsenal. However, he was part of the starting line-up for our second game against Bayern Munich.

He debuted for the Denish side on the 8th of June, 2015. Andreas was featured in the second-half of a friendly against Montenegro which Denmark won.
This was immediately followed by a four match performance with the Denmark Under-21 Team at the European Under-21 Championship. The Denmark team had a great showing at the competition; they made it to the semi-finals.
Christensen began all the games for Denmark at the World Cup in 2018 where they got to the last-16, although Croatia made them lose on penalties.
