Chelsea FC have relieved Antonio Conte and his staff of their duties at the club, paving the way for the imminent arrival of Maurizio Sarri.

Conte has been ineffective at the club since the end of last season as Chelsea continued negotiations with Napoli over a compensation package for former manager Sarri.

However, continued negotiations with Napoli for Sarri meant that Conte could continue taking first team training sessions with the Blues or be in a breach of contract. The Italian manager took the morning session today before the players were dismissed.

Reports from Sky Italia now suggest that Conte and his staff have been informed that they have been relieved of their duties by the club. This is an indication that a deal for Sarri to Stamford Bridge is as good as done and may be announced today or tomorrow according to Napoli’s lawyer.
