Chelsea prefer cheap Piatek to Icardi


  • Chelsea FC to cut cost and move for Genoa striker Piatek against Mauro Icardi.

  • In-form Piatek who has been hitting the back of the net for Genoa all season has a cheaper price tag of £40 million.

According to reports, Chelsea has identified Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek as a cheaper alternative to Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi.

Both strikers have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge although there have been concerns that Chelsea will be priced out of a move for Icardi.

With Maurizio Sarri keen to boost his attack, Icardi was sounded out.

However, the Argentina international has also emerged as a target for Real Madrid and other suitors who’ll be willing to spend big in order to acquire him from Inter Milan.

Therefore, Piatek who has been in form for Genoa this season has been sounded out by the Blues and identified as a cheaper option

The player is expected to be a cheaper option and his current form with Genoa demanding nothing less than £40 million after his performances this season.
