According to reports, Chelsea have slapped a £30million prize tag on Brazilian winger Kenedy as Newcastle United have indicated interest to sign him on a permanent deal this summer. Kenedy is reportedly a priority on Benitez’s transfer wishlist and initial discussions regarding the player’s proposed move to the Magpies have already been had.
However, sources have revealed that Newcastle will have to pay the going rate for Kenedy who was impressive in his loan spell with the Magpies last term.
Benitez has initially hinted that a fresh loan deal could be the club’s best chance of landing the player for the 2018/19 Premier League season. His suggestion appears to have been confirmed as it was revealed to him in June that he would be working with a limited budget this summer which is apparently the case.
Meanwhile, another stumbling block to the move is the managerial uncertainty at Stamford Bridge, a development which has also not helped Newcastle’s chances of landing the player by any means.
