Chelsea will announce new head coach this week

  • Chelsea will sign Lampard on a three-year deal.
  • Lampard’s announcement will come sometime this week.

Following the departure of Maurizio Sarri to Italy after a season filled with ups and downs, The Blues are expected to announce Lampard as Chelsea’s new coach sometime this week.

Frank Lampard is the favorite to replace Sarri and the Blues are expected to confirm his appointment before the week runs out, in addition, Owner Roman Abramovic also supports the 41-year-old to take over.

Chelsea is willing to buy Frank Lampard out of his three years contract by paying a £4 million compensation fee to the Rams, however, no announcement will come, except Derby County has confirmed a replacement for Lampard.

Reports suggest that Lampard has agreed to a three-year contract and he will be joined by some of his backroom staff Jody Morris and Chris Jones from Derby come next season.

Lampard’s impressive work at Derby County’s made the club try to keep him, though contract extension never fell through as the former midfielder’s mind has been made up to join his former Club.
