Emerging reports indicate that Chelsea are set to miss out on Russia international midfielder Aleksandr Golovin as the player is set to join Ligue 1 club Monaco, amid beliefs that former Chelsea sporting director Michael Emenalo, now at Monaco, had a hand in the player’s choice of Monaco ahead of the Blues. The deal is yet to be confirmed.
Golovin was first linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus before Chelsea emerged as the favorites to land the Russian’s signature this summer. However, it appears that the player now favors a move to Monaco instead.
Emenalo who left Chelsea for Monaco now seems to be raiding Chelsea’s targets and youth academy players within Monaco’s reach. However, Golovin’s supposed choice of Monaco over Chelsea has attracted numerous questions on his motivation.
