According to reports, Belgium Jupiler League side Gent are interested in signing Chelsea defender and Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo this summer.
The defender’s popularity appears to have risen since his impressive display in defence for the Nigeria national team in Russia 2018 before they were knocked out by Argentina. Omeruo started the last two games against Iceland and Argentina, and also put in commanding displays.
The report suggested the confirmation that Gent have already opened talks with the Super Eagles defender over a possible move to the Ghelmaco Area, and made their first approach last month in London in Nigeria’s friendly against England.
The Belgian club are in the market for defensive reinforcements after seeing the likes of Samuel Gigot and Stefan Mitrovic move to Spartak Moscow and Strasbourg respectively in the course of the ongoing summer transfer window.
