Chelsea target Aleksandr Golovin has been one of Russia’s best players in the World Cup. The midfielder has spent the last decade of his club footballing career ar CSKA Moscow and has been instrumental for the senior side since he was 19. Golovin who has made over 100 appearances for the club may now be moving on to bigger things, and there are reports he will most likely end up at Chelsea in this summer transfer window.
Golovin is also a target for Juventus as reports suggested before the World Cup but his valuation appears to have put off the Serie A giants, although Chelsea appear to be willing to fork out the required €25-30m for the 22-year-old’s signature.
The move may have gathered momentum as his mother confirmed that Chelsea and CSKA Moscow are negotiating a deal for the Russia international midfielder, with the transfer likely to be completed after the World Cup.
The translated quotes from his mother in a chat with newsmen stated:
“Yes, now there are talks between the clubs, but we still do not know the details.
“Sacha right now stands only for the Russian team, fully focused on the World Cup. The transition from one club to another will only be discussed after it is completed here.
“For now, everyone loves my Sacha, even those who before didn’t care about football. His biggest fan is his 83-year-old grandmother – she does not miss a single match.”
