Reports suggest that Chelsea have submitted a bid to Juventus for defender Mattia Caldara. The defender has yet to make an appearance for the Old Ladies since joining in January 2017.

Caidara broke through the ranks at Atalanta and established himself as one of the best defenders in the Serie A before Juventus signed him and loaned him back to Atalanta till the summer of 2018.

The player who won his first cap for the Italy national team at the end of last season is now back for pre-season with Juventus but there are doubts concerning his future at the club with Chelsea and Dortmund interested in his signature.

Calciomercato have stated that the Blues have made a bid of £27 million for the defender after an official approach was made. However, it is believed that Juventus do not want to sell the defender and instantly rejected the bid. Chelsea are also keen on Daniele Rugani, who could be set to join the club for £35 million in a long-term contract worth £70,000 per week.
