Swansea wait on Chelsea

Championship outfit Swansea City are waiting on Chelsea in regards to a summer transfer acquisition.

As reported by our sister site Wales Online, the South Wales side signed Marc Guehi on loan in January for the remainder of the 2019/20 and for the entirety of the 2020/21 campaign.

Swansea does not anticipate there being any issues over a potential return to the Liberty Stadium for Guehi, although Chelsea has the right to keep the defender at Stamford Bridge should they wish.

Keeper leaves on loan

Chelsea goalkeeper Jamie Cumming has completed a move to join Stevenage on loan.

The 20-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues but has made 11 appearances for the club’s under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy.

He will spend 2020-21 on loan with the League Two club.

Newcastle eye Batshuayi

Newcastle United are interested in signing Michy Batshuayi but Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson is their prime target.

As reported by our sister site Chronicle Live, Steve Bruce is keen on bolstering his attacking ranks for the new season.

Chelsea are keen to offload the Belgian, who has reportedly been offered to Leeds, but the Magpies are eyeing a loan and see him as a short-term option.

Loan moves on the horizon

Chelsea striker Armando Broja is set to join Vitesse Arnhem on loan and a number of other players are expected to complete similar moves.

The 18-year-old made his first-team debut under Frank Lampard last season, appearing off the bench late in March’s Premier League win over Everton, and scored 19 goals at underage and development squad level.

Havertz deal in ‘final stages’

Chelsea are in the ‘final stages’ of a deal bringing Kai Havertz to the club from Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports.

The Blues have made the Germany international their prime target following the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.

A move was delayed due to the Bundesliga side’s Europa League involvement but that is now over and the club have admitted Havertz wants to leave.

Chelsea have long been the leading suitors for his services and a deal is now set to be tied-up.

Chelsea set to sell Emerson

Chelsea are ready to approve the sale of Emerson Palmieri as soon as Ben Chilwell arrives, according to reports cited by Sport Witness.

The Blues are ready to offload the Brazilian, with fellow full-back Marcos Alonso also likely to depart.

Benrahma move on?

Brentford are reportedly closing in on the signing of a new forward, which could signal Said Benrahma is on his way out.

According to Swedish outlet Expressen, talks have been ongoing with French side Amiens over Iranian international Saman Ghoddos, and a deal could be announced ‘shortly’.

That could mean the Bees are preparing themselves for the departure of Benrahma, who has been linked with Chelsea among other Premier League clubs.

Messi to Chelsea?

Lionel Messi could leave Barcelona and Chelsea might just have passed the test for where he could end up next.

Messi’s Barcelona lost 8-2 against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last Friday.

Now the Argentine star has been linked with an exit from the Camp Nou.

Nestor Watach has now explained why Chelsea would be a good fit.

Dortmund’s Sancho transfer admission

Borussia Dortmund has made a Jadon Sancho transfer admission after announcing losses of around £45 million.

The financial setback is due to the coronavirus pandemic which has impacted football across the globe.

Sancho has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, while Chelsea have also been heavily involved in the rumours surrounding the forward’s future.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has since explained the situation with Sancho amid the financial blow.

“We have had ten very, very good years at Borussia Dortmund,” he said, per The Express.

“We made three-digit million profits and wrote deep black numbers. Then corona came and everything changed a little.”

Asked directly about whether the club needs to sell Sancho, Watzke responded: “We weren’t in a situation where we had to sell at any cost.”

Shock Kepa replacement

Chelsea have been linked with a move for former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.

Foster suffered relegation with Watford this past season and now the Blues are looking to offer the 37-year-old a Premier League lifeline.

Kepa Arrizabalaga could be sold this summer and The Sun state that Foster could even be classed as a replacement for the Spaniard.

Chelsea sent Havertz warning by an ex-Arsenal man

Former Arsenal man Lukas Podolski has sent a warning to Chelsea over their pursuit of Kai Havertz.

The attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a transfer switch from Bayer Leverkusen to Stamford Bridge, but the Germans want £90 million.

Podolski has hailed Havertz as a ‘great talent’ but sent a warning to the Blues.

He told the Athletic: “He’s a great talent. On the ball he is so creative, but he’s still young — let’s see if he can fit into the Premier League. I think he is still missing some strength and power, but he should taste the drink of the Premier League and see if he likes it.”

Chilwell boost

Chelsea transfer news sees the Blues reportedly on the verge of agreeing a deal for Leicester defender Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell has starred for Leicester City in recent seasons and it has led to speculation aplenty about his future.

Now Chelsea are set to free up a spot in the squad for Chilwell.

Chelsea yet to make approach for Dunk

Contrary to the earlier rumours suggesting Lewis Dunk was on the verge of a move to Chelsea, it’s now being reported the Blues are yet to make an approach for the Brighton defender.

Caught Offside report that Chelsea are interested in the 28-year-old, but say the rumours stating he’s close to a move “are not a true representation of Dunk’s current situation”.

The defender’s stock has risen ever since the Seagulls made it to the Premier League in 2017, with Dunk receiving his first England cap in 2018.

Alex Sandro fee

Juventus defender Alex Sandro could be available for as little as £36million this summer.

Chelsea are long-term admirers of the Brazilian and remain keen to sign a new left-back this summer.

Corrieredellosport report that Juventus would consider a sale this summer to raise for funds for Andrea Pirlo to shape his new squad.

Ben Chilwell has been Chelsea’s first-choice target but Leicester City’s £80m asking price could cause an issue.

Blues ready to move on Stones

Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a move for John Stones, even if they sign Brighton’s Lewis Dunk as well.

The Blues have been linked with both players as Frank Lampard looks to rebuild his defence ahead of the new season.

With that in mind, the Mirror claim a loan bid could be made for Stone, with the former Everton man highly regarded at Stamford Bridge. Stones moved to City from Everton for £50m.

Kai Havertz latest

Bayer Leverkusen are not budging on their asking price for Kai Havertz, according to Sky Sports.

They report that the Bundesliga club are not willing to give Chelsea a “corona discount” and are sticking to their £90m asking price.

Havertz wants to move to Stamford Bridge but has an agreement with Leverkusen which means they will only let him go if their valuation is met.

Napoli lead race for Reguilon

Reports in Italy have suggested Napoli are now leading the race for full-back Sergio Reguilon.

The 23-year-old caught the eye last night as Sevilla knocked Manchester United out of the Europa League semi-finals.

And the on-loan Real Madrid man, who has been linked with Chelsea, was one of the stars, although Calcio Mercato claim the Blues have fallen behind in the race to sign him.
