Emerging reports suggest that Chelsea will look to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan if Maurizio Sarri replaces Antonio Conte as manager at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Sarri still remains contracted to Napoli despite the arrival of the new manager Ccarlo Ancelotti and is still the reported favorite to replace Antonio Conte if the club proceeds to sack him.
With regards to this, Sarri has reportedly started formulating his transfer strategies, and Inter Milan’s red-hot forward Mauro Icardi has emerged as his first target.
Icardi was named Capocannoniere in the just concluded season for finishing as a joint top scorer in the Serie A with 29 goals in 26 games.
It is believed that Sarri wants the Argentine to lead his attacking line when he assumes the managerial helm at Stamford Bridge. However, Icardi won’t come cheap as he has a release clause of £96m.
