Reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race to acquire talented Ajax youngster Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek has been impressive for Ajax this season and Chelsea had initially sent scouts to watch him play for the Dutch side earlier this month.
The Young Dutchman has also been linked with Barcelona who are also interested in his teammate Frenkie De Jong.
Van de Beek who is 21 is yet to have his best days and will be with Ajax until 2022 according to the terms of his current contract.
However, it is believed that a bid in the region of €40m will convince the Dutch giants to part with one of their prized youngsters.
Calciomercato have now reported that Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are now leading the race to sign Van de Beek.
It is believed that Spurs consider him as a suitable replacement for Moussa Dembele who could make a move to China while Chelsea view him as a long-term successor to Cesc Fabregas.
