Antonio Rudiger suffered a knee injury during Chelsea’s visit to Old Trafford, 2 weeks after recovering from the same knee injury ruling him out for the rest of the season.
The German was a key component in Sarri’s squad last season, he made 44 appearances across all competitions before the occurrence of his injury.
Ideally, the 26-year-old has the rest of the season and the full pre-season to complete his recovery following a successful surgery but a report from The Telegraph suggests that the German international could miss the start of 2019/2020 campaign.
The German International past record with knee injuries has not been kind either, Chelsea or Rudiger is in haste to rush his recovery and risk another setback.

Chelsea has agreed to give the defender all the time in the world to make a full recovery, even if he will miss the start of next season.
UEFA Super Cup tie with Liverpool on 14th of August and Premier League opener with Man United on the 11th of August are the two major games Chelsea may be without the defender.
Rudiger fitness next season will be in the mind of every Blues patriot, though in his Europa League final statement he said he will do everything possible to be ready for next season.
