Lampard had a simple message for his new players as he resumed training at Chelsea for the first time – he wants his players to play with high intensity and dominate opposition team.

The statement was according to Lampard’s former teammate Azpilicueta, the Chelsea captain would be coached by Lampard next season after his appointment was announced last week.

The Stamford Bridge legend signed a 3-year deal with Chelsea to become the new manager of the club after his first, managerial stint with Derby County last season.

Frank Lampard guided Derby County to a Championship final playoff final at Wembley but his side crashes out against Aston Villa within 90 minutes and failed to make a dramatic return to the premier league.

Sarri one-season spell at Chelsea was spent tuning a new style of play into the Club, the Italian manager drilled a possessive-system of play into his team, he was criticized by the majority of the club supporters on his philosophy of the game called “SarriBall”.

However, Lampard is expected to bring back the Chelsea way of football which is more like what Antonio Conte played during is spell at his club that won them two trophies including the premier league title.

“I’m really looking forward to the new season,”

Azpilicueta said.

“We’ve all had a good break, which was needed after a long season with the Europa League running until the end of May.

“It was great to win a trophy to finish with and now we are all ready and raring to get back at it. It’s always a lot of hard work during pre-season but it’s the work you have to put in, to create a good base for our physical condition.

“He wants us to play with high intensity and we want to be dominant in games, the manager has explained how he wants us to play and we are all enjoying the camp so far.”

Frank Lampard was given two days off by Derby County, the Chelsea legend had Monday and Tuesday off as his players reported to training for preseason yesterday.

The Chelsea legend was given the two days break to get his Chelsea move done and the blues have finally secured a return for the English manager.
