Chelsea will be going into the 2019/20 football season without a certain Eden Hazard who was instrumental to the side’s major successes for close to a decade.
This definitely gives rise to the question of who will be good enough to replace the Belgian in the current set up considering the transfer ban that stares the club in the face.
But before an answer that could pass for the solution is given, Chelsea must understand that any decision they take in this regard must be with an eye on the future and what it holds for the club.
Chelsea’s other relative creative spark from the flanks and sometimes through the middle after Eden Hazard in his time at the team was Willian.

However, the Brazilian has not been consistent enough in the attacking third to warrant him being handed the position. Secondly, he isn’t any younger and has lost pace in the past seasons. His end product also leaves more to be desired.
Meanwhile, Chelsea recently unveiled Christian Pulisic, the United States international, who was signed from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in January and sent back on loan to the club.
There’s also the youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has shown promises, thus being the subject of major interest from Bayern Munich. The player is eager to carve a niche for himself at Stamford Bridge but wants assurances of regular playing time before putting pen to paper on a new contract.
Regardless, our pick is Christian Pulisic who has proven that he has what it takes to be a replacement for Eden Hazard going by the experience he’s garnered thus far. Christian Pulisic, 20, was very impressive at Dortmund although he had a mixed final season at the Signal Iduna Park.
Eden Hazard offered a lot at Chelsea but will forever be remembered for his creative spark. He was not the best goalscorer when compared to the likes of Neymar, Messi, Mbappe, Ronaldo, and other attackers who have eagle eyes for goals.
This is definitely one less worry for the club in their quest to replace him as the player who’ll be handed his role won’t be expected to score loads of goal. But if the player can do so, that’s a big advantage.
Christian Pulisic is very pacy, skillful, and comes with his own creative spark. He has also shown it at the highest level with Dortmund and being handed the responsibility at Chelsea shouldn’t be an insurmountable challenge.
He may not have the eye for goals, but so did Eden Hazard. However, this is one aspect of his game he can improve on with time at Chelsea as he’s just 20.
Christian Pulisic should be the man to replace the departed Belgian as I don’t see Chelsea shelling out additional millions for any decent attacker even if the transfer ban is lifted unless it’s a typical center-forward.
Therefore, Christian Pulisic should be the man and we wait to see how it pans out.
