Frank Lampard is the most wanted replacement for Sarri, he is the team’s legend and an all-time highest goal scorer with 114 goals. The union we not get any better as the legend looks to take Chelsea to a new height.
Stoney said, ” Lampard is the best candidate for Chelsea’s job, he’d utilize the youth players and keep Chelsea on track”.
“I think it unsettles you [as a player when the manager constantly changes],” she told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast.
“Obviously it’s worked ‘cos they’ve won trophies and Sarri showed that again this year, didn’t he? In terms of winning the Europa League.
“But is it a model that the fans like? I would suggest not. Is it a model that brings through youth players and invests in youth at the club? Look at how many loanees they’ve got out.
“It’s obviously a philosophy that the owner is keen on, but you want stability at your football club. You want to build a philosophy.”

“They’ve got so many talented players in their youth system that fans are crying out to see and it’s just not happening.
“And now more than ever when you look at the transfer ban, I know it’s going through the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the moment, then you can see why the fans are saying ‘Frank Lampard, Jody Morris, let’s bring in managers who know this club that can work with those younger kids coming through.’
“Yeah, it makes complete sense to me in terms of somebody that knows the football club, knows the players in those youth systems that you’re gonna have to invest in if you get a transfer ban.
“And obviously with the loss of Eden Hazard, that’s a massive loss. It’s gonna have a big impact.
“So you’re gonna need those players to come in and fill big shoes. It’s gonna take somebody that knows them, that can get the best out of them to do that.
“Whether Frank would want to put himself in that position, in the hot-seat when there’s a transfer ban, we’ll have to wait and see.”
Mel Morris has confirmed that Chelsea is yet to make a tangible approach for Lampard, the Derby Boss told TalkSport yesterday.
“We have made it very clear to everyone, but most importantly to Frank, that we want to retain Frank for the long term. If Chelsea want to hire Frank, then it is in their gift to make an offer in pursuit of that.
“In the meantime, we will continue to put our best foot forward to continue with our plans for the coming season and work with Frank for him to know how much he is wanted by everyone associated with the club.”
